Melbourne Airport offers a wide range of parking options designed to suit different types of travellers, from short visits to extended stays. Parking facilities are divided between official on-site airport parking and off-site private providers located near the airport.

The main difference between options lies in proximity to the terminals, pricing, and transfer time. Parking located closer to the terminals provides maximum convenience but comes at a higher cost, while more remote or off-site options offer better value for longer stays.

Booking parking online in advance is highly recommended, as drive-up rates are significantly more expensive.

Parking Types Overview

Terminal Parking: Located directly next to terminals T1, T2, T3, and T4. Ideal for short stays and business travellers. Walking distance access.

Value Parking: Located within airport grounds but further away. Connected to terminals by a free shuttle service operating regularly.

For trips longer than two days, Value Parking usually offers the best balance between cost and convenience.

Premium / Valet Parking: Drop-off service at the terminal entrance. Staff park the vehicle for maximum convenience.

Off-site Parking: Private parking facilities located near the airport. Includes shuttle transfer and lower daily rates.

Off-site parking can be up to 50% cheaper when booked in advance, but requires additional transfer time.

Terminal parking is convenient but becomes expensive quickly. It is best suited for stays under 24 hours.

Location and Access

Terminal parking is distributed across multi-level car parks located directly opposite each terminal. T1, T2 and T3 share central parking structures, while T4 has its own adjacent parking area.

Value Parking is situated within the airport perimeter but requires a shuttle transfer. Shuttle buses operate frequently and connect directly with all terminals.

When using shuttle parking, it is advisable to arrive at least 20–30 minutes earlier than usual to allow for transfer time.

Off-site parking facilities are located in the surrounding Tullamarine area and typically include secure parking, surveillance systems, and continuous shuttle services.
